This course considers the historical and social context of cannabis policy and State and Federal legal guidelines. Emphasis shall be placed the quite a few social justice points surrounding cannabis legal guidelines, including the intersection of race, ethnicity, and socio-economic standing and the disproportionate impact of policy and laws. These themes will be connected to the current legalization of hashish and the ongoing influence on individuals, communities and the justice system. The overarching themes of this course are law enforcement, sentencing pointers, incarceration, and group supervision.
