A survey course designed as an elective for non-horticulture majors who are thinking about landscaping their properties and learning the means to maintain plant materials. Topics lined embrace primary design rules, foundation plantings, and the use of flowers in the design; as nicely as the planting, pruning and care of plant materials used within the design. This course explores African American history from the top of the Civil War to the current by participating wide-ranging issues, debates and subjects which have shaped African American experiences since emancipation. In the method, the course will concentrate on African American company, including the character of each their resistance and oppression, and centrality of African Americans to shaping American history. This course examines the history of African Americans in the United States from their African origins to the Civil War and emancipation via main and secondary readings and visible and aural texts.
