When politics is launched to the educational world, students typically are inclined to take energetic elements in politics and do little in their research. Valuable time set aside for studies is put to waste while college students are dragged into political rallies and debates.

This can be frustrating, but is their focus egocentric or are they just advocating and pushing the areas that they had been employed to advance? Shouldn’t we all advocate to the best of our capacity for our areas? It is difficult for me to argue in opposition to this logic and I don’t find fault in those that work this way. Nevertheless, for those of us who work more immediately with students, our job has to embrace a much bigger image. It can’t simply be about our specific area and how we serve students, but about how students are served holistically within the college.
